Founder, Giving With a Purpose
I was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in a low-income family where hard work was essential to simply put food on the table. From a young age, I learned resilience, perseverance, and faith through life’s challenges. When I was just three years old, I suffered a serious burn injury, and my parents were unable to afford the medical care I needed. In that difficult season, God placed compassionate people in my life who stepped in to help—people who invested in me when my family could not do it alone.
That experience marked the beginning of my understanding of what it means to be truly supported. The mentorship, encouragement, and spiritual guidance I received growing up shaped the person I am today. Without those individuals who chose to walk alongside me, I would not be where I am now. Their investment did more than meet an immediate need—it gave me hope, direction, and a future.
Giving With a Purpose was born from this lived experience and a deep desire to give back what was so freely given to me. God placed a calling on my heart to invest in the lives of children and youth, especially those facing adversity, and to create opportunities where faith, mentorship, and practical support come together to bring lasting change.
As the founder of Giving With a Purpose, I lead with a servant’s heart and a strong commitment to integrity, compassion, and faith. Through Gospel-centered programs, mentorship, leadership development, and community outreach, we strive to create safe and nurturing environments where children and families can grow spiritually, academically, and emotionally.
I have seen firsthand the life-changing impact that occurs when someone chooses to invest in a child. This organization exists because I know what is possible when faith meets action and when love is expressed through consistent support and presence.
Looking ahead, my prayer is to continue expanding this mission, strengthening partnerships, and equipping the next generation with the tools, confidence, and spiritual foundation they need to walk in purpose. Minerva Pimentel has been the face of the ministry in La Vega, where her guidance and leadership have played a vital role in shaping the ministry into what it is today. Through her exceptional leadership, dedication, and heart for service, she has been instrumental in strengthening programs, supporting children, and advancing the mission in the community.

Soranyi is the bridge between the church, the community, and the ministry in Santo Domingo. As a pillar in her church, her dedication and heart for children’s ministry have been essential in helping us bring a smile to one child at a time. Her commitment and faith-driven service continue to strengthen our mission and impact in the community.

We provide weekly Gospel-centered gatherings for children and youth in a safe, engaging, and educational environment. Through mentorship, leadership development, and community outreach, we are committed to nurturing faith, character, and academic growth.
About Giving With A Purpose
Children & Youth Gatherings
Our weekly gatherings create a welcoming space where children and youth can learn about the Gospel, build meaningful relationships, and participate in fun, age-appropriate activities designed to support their spiritual and personal development.Through Bible lessons, small group discussions, games, and creative activities, children and youth are encouraged to build a strong spiritual foundation while developing healthy relationships with peers and mentors.Some of our youth participate in a monthly leadership training that equipped them to assist in leading the games and teach the younger children.
Summer Afterschool Program
During the summer months, we offer a structured afterschool program serving children from Pre-K through high school. This program is led by high school juniors and seniors, alongside dedicated community leaders who mentor students and encourage leadership, responsibility, and service as well as English as a Second Language.
Community Outreach: Backpack Distribution
Each year, we host an annual backpack distribution, providing approximately 300 backpacks to children in our program and partner ministries. This initiative helps ensure students have the essential school supplies needed to support their educational success.
